19-year-old Bullhead City man dies of apparent drowning in Lake Mohave

LAKE MOHAVE, Ariz. - The National Park Service and Bullhead City Fire Department recovered the body of a 19 year old man, Patrick Tieken, of Bullhead City, Ariz. this evening. He was found near Rams Head Cove on Lake Mohave in the Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Tieken died of an apparent drowning.

The park service received the report at approximately 3:30 p.m. Park Rangers were on-scene within half an hour of the call. The man reportedly dove into the lake from a boat at the opening of the cove, but never surfaced. Divers from Bullhead City Fire Department were able to locate Tieken in about 70-feet of water at about 5:30 p.m. He was not wearing a life jacket.

His body has been turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner.
