The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Jan. 26, 2009. It is reproduced in full below.

On Saturday, January 31st at 10:00 a.m., the National Park Service at Fort Frederica National Monument is pleased to announce a new series of programs for 2009 entitled Story Time at the Fort. A park ranger will read a story to children and parents on a variety of different topics, from conservation to archeology. This month’s story will be The Lorax by Dr. Seuss. An art activity focusing on conservation and preservation will follow the reading of the story. This program is designed for children in pre-school through elementary school. “Children are our best ambassadors for the future of our environment," says Chief Ranger Kim Coons. Through this program the park hopes to foster preservation and conservation at an early age.

The program will be held in the park’s Visitor Center. Admission fees will be charged (See below for information on admission fees).

Admission Fees: Adults (age 16+) are $3.00 per person. Children under age 16 are free. Fort Frederica, National Parks, Golden passes are valid for admission to the park and its events
