Fort Frederica Superintendent Mary Beth Wester is pleased to announce a concert of “Music of Early America" performed by David and Ginger Hildebrand at Fort Frederica National Monument on Saturday, March 14 at 7:00 pm.

Hailing from Maryland, the Hildebrands will perform colonial songs, intertwined with stories and discussion to create a vivid sense of our cultural heritage. Due to limited seating, reservations are needed. Please call the park visitor center at (912) 638-3639. Admission is $ 3.00 per adult and children under 15 are free. National Park Service passes are also accepted.

Fort Frederica National Monument is located at 6515 Frederica Road on St. Simons Island. The concert is hosted by the National Park Service and the Fort Frederica Association.

David and Ginger Hildebrand specialize in researching, recording, and performing early American music. Since 1980 they have presented concerts and educational programs throughout the country for museums, historical societies, public schools and universities. They have worked with the Smithsonian Institution, the National Archives, Mount Vernon, and Colonial Williamsburg. The Hildebrands provided soundtrack materials and served as period music consultants for several PBS broadcasts.

This evening promises to be highly entertaining and will spark an interest in colonial music and the history behind it.
