Chekika closes for wet season 2009

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on April 28, 2009. It is reproduced in full below.

Everglades National Park will close the Chekika area of the park as of Friday May 1, 2009. The Chekika entrance is only open seasonally (December 1 through April 30) due to flooding during the wet season and will reopen December 1 2009.
