Shackleford-Ocracoke Cross Filly Born

Harkers Island, NC -- Cape Lookout National Seashore Superintendent Russel J. Wilson announced that an adopted Shackleford stallion, Wenzel, has sired a new addition to the Ocracoke/Cape Hatteras National Seashore herd, a filly named Paloma. Paloma’s dam, Spirit, is a full-blooded Ocracoke mare. The Shackleford-Ocracoke cross provides valuable genetic diversity to the small Ocracoke herd.
