Outdoor Photography Workshop

Outdoor Photography Workshop

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Sept. 22, 2010. It is reproduced in full below.

An outdoor photography workshop will be held on Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010, at Knife River Indian Villages NHS from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. MDT. Participants should meet at the visitor center to participate in this free event.

Photographer Lonnie Bertsch from Bismarck will be leading the workshop. A photography instructor at Bismarck State College for nine years; manager of Bob's Photo for 19 years, and freelance photography for over 25 years all provide Lonnie with an outstanding background for workshop leadership. His work has been published in many national magazines and newspapers across the United States.

Workshop participants will be spending time in the field at Knife River Indian Villages NHS. All camera formats are welcome-from "point and shoot," to digital SLR, to film. Appropriate shoes and outer clothing suitable for fall weather and walking in the park are encouraged. Participants may bring a sack lunch or purchase lunch locally in Stanton.

"This is an exceptional opportunity to explore hints and tips from a photographer who specializes in Nature Photography," said Acting Superintendent Maureen McGee-Ballinger.

There is no charge for the event. For more information, you can call the park at 701-745-3300.
