Denali National Park to Burn Debris Pile

Fire management staff at Denali National Park and Preserve will burn a large pile of debris consisting of brush, trees and branches on Monday, April 4, 2011, if weather permits. Ignition of the pile will occur in the morning. The pile is located just east of McKinley Airstrip, and just west of the northern most loop of Riley Creek Campground within Denali National Park. The smoke may be visible from aircraft in the area and from the Denali Park Road and the George Parks Highway. Park staff will be monitoring the burn until it is declared out. The burn is expected to last 3 to 5 days.
