SEARCHLIGHT, Nev - A park visitor reported finding human remains floating in Nevada Bay on Lake Mohave at approximately 6:45 AM today. The National Park Service has confirmed that this is the body of Andre Batlle, 25, of Henderson, Nev. Next of kin have been notified. Drowning is suspected, but cause of death will be determined by the Clark County Medical Examiner.
Batlle went missing on Sunday August 7 after he went swimming from a boat on Lake Mohave. Park rangers and Nevada Department of Wildlife game wardens mounted daily searches of the area in an attempt to locate him.
Batlle and his group boated from Cottonwood Cove about 2.5 miles north to Arizona Bay on the Arizona side of Lake Mohave. A witness says that Batlle was in the water for two to three minutes when he was heard saying he could not breathe. At around 11 a.m. the witness says she turned away for a moment and when she turned back Batlle was gone. The water depth in the area ranges from 80 to 100 feet.
Batlle was not wearing a life jacket.
