Washington, D.C. - Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011, the National Park Service (NPS) will hold a 9:00 a.m. daily briefing to update reporters on the work being done by the team that is assessing the exterior of the Washington Monument. Park officials will provide a review of what work was accomplished the day before and what work is scheduled for the day. Daily briefings will be held as long as the team is working on the Monument.
TRAFFIC ADVISORY: Satellite and microwave truck ONLY remains on Jefferson Drive and Madison Drive between 14th and 15th Streets. No personal vehicles will be allowed. There is no parking allowed at any time on both 14th and 15th Streets. Vehicles parked there will be ticketed and towed.
Overflow parking is on your own, but the NPS suggests parking east of 14th Street on either Jefferson or Madison Drives.
