Public is Invited to Flight 93 Advisory Commission Meeting
Somerset, PA - The quarterly meeting of the Flight 93 Advisory Commission will be held on Saturday November 5, 2011 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. The meeting is open to the public, and will be held at the Somerset offices of Flight 93 National Memorial: 109 W. Main Street, #104, Somerset, PA 15501
The purpose of the meeting is to review events and developments related to Flight 93 National Memorial since the previous meeting in August. The meeting will include reports on communications, interpretive planning, land acquisition, memorial design, fundraising, as well as the activities of the Families of Flight 93, Friends of Flight 93 and National Park Service.
Congress authorized the establishment of a federal commission to assist the Department of the Interior and the National Park Service with the formulation of plans for a permanent memorial to honor the passengers and crew of Flight 93. Phase 1 of construction is now complete and was dedicated on Sept. 10, 2011. The permanent memorial is now open for visitation.
