First Night Closure For Bear Lake Road Reconstruction Planned For April and Early May

Bear Lake Road reconstruction in Rocky Mountain National Park began in early March. The first night closure will begin on April 1 and may run through May 18. The closures will take place from the junction of Trail Ridge Road/US 36 and Bear Lake Road to the Moraine Park Junction. The road will be closed from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. nightly Sunday nights through Thursday mornings. Moraine Park Campground will be open; however campers will need to plan ahead for the night closures.

The Bear Lake Road Reconstruction Project involves 5.1 miles of road and access to another 4.3 miles. There are 110 miles of road in the park. This project does not include Trail Ridge Road.
