Park comments on EPA and State Water Quality Agreement

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on June 14, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

The water quality agreement between the US Environmental Protection Agency and the State of Florida announced today is fundamental to restoring the ecological health of Everglades National Park. The agreement's water quality based limitations, coupled with required remedies, a schedule, an enforcement mechanism, and associated reporting & science provide a necessary complement to our efforts to restore the flow of the River of Grass. This is truly a most significant day for the future of Everglades National Park" said Everglades National Park Superintendent Dan Kimball.
