Hazard Fuels Mitigation Work Continues Near Lily Lake

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 2, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

As part of ongoing fuels mitigation work, beginning on Thursday, July 5, hazard fuels will be removed near Lily Lake. Removing these fuels will help reduce the risk of high intensity fires inside the treatment area and nearby private property. Accumulated forest fuels within the park boundary, including beetle-killed trees and dead and down material, will be cut and placed in piles.

For more information about Rocky Mountain National Park please call the park's Information Office at (970) 586-1206.
