Petrified Forest, AZ-In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month (which serves to promote awareness of and appreciation for history and culture of American Indians), please join us for the following:

Cultural demonstrators will be at Painted Desert Inn National Historic Landmark, 9:30 am-4:30 pm, the following days:

Fri 11/2, Sat 11/3, Sun 11/4 Goodluck Family, Navajo silversmiths

Fri 11/9, Sun 11/11, Mon 11/12 Goodluck Family, Navajo silversmiths

Sat 11/10 Alice Hawthorne & Angeline Murphy, Navajo weaver and jewelry maker

Fri 11/16 Goodluck Family, Navajo silversmiths

Sat 11/17 Jonathan & Harriett Mike, Navajo silversmiths

Sun 11/18 Goodluck Family, Navajo silversmiths

Also found at Painted Desert Inn are several striking murals from Hopi artist Fred Kabotie, which can be viewed during normal business hours.

The park showcases some 13,000 years of human history-learn more about this compelling fact by visiting Puerco Pueblo and Newspaper Rock.
