The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Nov. 2, 2012. It is reproduced in full below.

Grand Canyon, Ariz. - In honor of those that serve and have served in the United States military, national park units around the country, including Grand Canyon National Park, will be offering everyone fee-free entry during the Veterans Day weekend.

The fee free designation applies to the entire weekend, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, November 10 - 12. Visitors who arrive on Nov. 10, 11 or 12 will be allowed to enter the park free of charge. Those who plan to enter (or re-enter) the park after November 12 will be charged the regular entrance fee.

Park visitors are reminded that the fee-free designation applies to entrance fees only and does not affect fees for camping, reservations, tours, or use of concessions. Park entrance stations will have park passes such as Interagency Senior, Annual and Access Passes, as well as the new Active Military Passes, available for those who wish to acquire them.
