Petrified Forest, AZ-Celebrate the scenery with an off-trail guided hike to the "Dying Grounds" on Sunday March 31st. Discover a special place in the park few others ever experience!

This hike will last about 1.5 hours and is about 2 mi round trip. This hike showcases stunning scenery, fossils of long extinct creatures and the fascinating story of the Late Triassic in Arizona. Learn and enjoy in the great outdoor classroom that is your National Park.

Be prepared! These hikes are on varied, uneven terrain. Exposure to elements may include mud, ice, and cold weather. Wear appropriate layered clothing and hiking footwear, and bring food and water.

The hike is free, with no prior signup required. The normal entry fee into the park applies. Hike locations are subject to change based on conditions and weather.
