Park Announces Additional Volunteer Training Opportunities

The Abraham Lincoln Birthplace National Historical Park is holding volunteer orientation training days for those wishing to volunteer at the park's visitor center information desk. Classes are limited to 8 prospective volunteers. Those wishing to participate are asked to call the park's visitor center to make a reservation. The required class is free and spots will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.

Training is scheduled for the following dates and times:

Thursday, June 27 - 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EDT)

Monday, July 15 - 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EDT)

Thursday, August 29 - 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EDT)

Prospective volunteers will learn about the National Park Service's history and about the history and formation of the park. The training will include a tour of the park grounds and facilities. For more information call the park at 270-358-3137 or visit www.nps.gov/abli.
