Celebrate America with Fort Pulaski

The National Park Service and Fort Pulaski National Monument will celebrate the Nation’s 237th Birthday with family-friendly programs from Thursday, July 4 through Sunday, July 7, 2013.

Friday, July 5 will feature hands-on activities for the public. Each of the musket firing demonstrations, scheduled at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM, will be followed by a muster or Civil War inspection. At 1:00 PM, children of all ages will be able to make their own “Flat Civil War Soldier". A special program will be offered at 2:00 PM - a discussion of the role of the US Army Signal Corps during the Civil War.

There will be cannon firing demonstrations on Saturday, July 6 at 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 3:00 PM. Musket firing demonstrations will be available every day. These historic weapons demonstrations will be performed by park staff and volunteers dressed as Civil War soldiers.

Fort Pulaski National Monument is currently offering extended summer hours.

Summer hours are:

Visitor Center & Fort 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM

The park grounds will close at 6:15 PM.
