Lassen Volcanic National Park Superintendent, Darlene M. Koontz, announced that due to the federal government shutdown the park will delay the Wilderness and Backcountry Stewardship Plan open house scheduled for October 15 in Red Bluff. The open houses scheduled later in October may also be postponed should the government shutdown continue beyond October 15.
Once park employees return to work, the postponed events will be rescheduled and announced. The other scheduled open houses during the month of October which may be postponed include:
* October 23- Redding, 5-7 p.m., Lema Ranch, 800 Shasta View Drive
* October 24- Old Station, 5-7 p.m., location to be determined
