Monuments Announce Winter Hours (Flagstaff)

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA - Kayci Cook Collins, Superintendent of the Flagstaff National Monuments - Wupatki, Sunset Crater Volcano, and Walnut Canyon National Monument announces that visitor center hours will shift towinter hours starting Nov. 1, 2013.

From Nov. 1, 2013 to May 1, 2014, the monuments will be open from 9am to 5pm, seven days a week. We are closed only on December 25.Monument information and exhibits will be available during these hours. Walnut Canyon Island trail closes to at 4pm and the Rim Trail closes at 4:30pm.

Walnut Canyon National Monument is located 7.5 miles east of downtown Flagstaff via I-40 and can be reached at (928)526-3367 and on the web at www.nps.gov/waca (file://inpflagntsvr1/public/Cecilia/www.nps.gov/waca). Wupatki National Monument is 37 miles north of Flagstaff via Hwy 89, and can be reached at (928)679-2365 and www.nps.gov/wupa. Sunset Crater Volcano National Monument is located 12 miles north of Flagstaff via Hwy 89 and can be reached at (928)526-0502 and www.nps.gov/sucr.

The entrance fee is $5.00/person for visitors 16 and over. America the Beautiful Passes are honored and sold.
