RAIN CAUSES TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES AT LAKE MEAD NRA

BOULDER CITY, NEV. - Due to flooding and storm damage, Willow Beach and St. Thomas roads in Lake Mead National Recreation Area are temporarily closed.

At Willow Beach, which is on Lake Mohave in Arizona, the rain washed mud, boulders and other debris across the access road making it impassable. Lake Mead NRA road crews are actively working on Willow Beach Road to remove the debris. It should re-open later today.

St. Thomas Road, which is located near Overton, Nev., is a dirt road. It will be closed until the road dries out, making it more stable.

No injuries have been reported, and visitors have safely vacated the areas.
