LAKE MOHAVE MARINA CONTRACT OPEN FOR BID

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - The National Park Service has issued a prospectus soliciting for proposals in response to a 15-year business opportunity to operate a full-service marina at Katherine Landing on Lake Mohave within Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

The key elements of the contract authorize the operation of the marina, including moorage, boat rental, food and beverage, retail, fuel and other services.

Katherine Landing is the second most popular area within Lake Mead National Recreation Area. In 2013, more than 1.3 million people visited the developed area, up 38 percent compared to 2012. For 2014, visitation is up another 18 percent.

A one-day site visit is available April 15. Interested parties must RSVP to NPS Coordinator Kim Gagliolo at Kim_Gagliolo@nps.gov to reserve a spot. Questions about the prospectus must be submitted in writing to Gagliolo by April 21. Proposals must be received by 4 p.m. PST June 10.
