The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on April 8, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

International Falls, MN - Voyageurs National Park's new reservation/fee amenity program is up and running on www.recreation.gov. The program has been running for one full week and park officials would like to report the process has gone well with minimal glitches in the network system.

A reminder to all visitors who use www.recreation.gov, to search for Voyageurs National Park "Permits"! Click on the Permit tab!

The 51 campsites on the reservation system are filling fast. In the first two days alone, more than 200 people made reservations that included more than 1,300 people. These two days already brought in 50% or our estimated revenue for 2014!

Don't miss your opportunity to reserve one of these sites this summer! Visitors may make reservations by going online at www.recreation.gov or by calling the National Call Center at 877-444-6777. Reminder - Ask for permits not camping!
