Night Hike at Homestead National Monument of America
Enjoy a rare opportunity to hike the trails at night at Homestead National Monument of America! Experience the park in a new way with a ranger-led trail walk from the Education Center onApril 26 from 8:30-9:30 p.m.Meet the prairie's nighttime personality and let it engage all of your senses. Listen for the animals of the night. Gaze up at the star-spotted sky and find some constellations, or maybe even a shooting star. Hear stories about the stars from American Indian folklore.
April 26 is also National Junior Ranger Day. So in addition, this is a special opportunity for kids to become Junior Ranger Night Explorers!! The night sky is a precious resource, just like the plants and animals at the park. To learn about it and have some fun, kids will complete several activities during the star walk to earn a unique Junior Ranger Night Explorer patch!
This event is free and requires no registration; meet at the Education Center to begin the walk. This event is one of many events celebrating National Park Week, April 19-26.

9 a.m.-3 p.m.- Prairie Prowl Scavenger Hunt for all ages
10 a.m.- Ranger Led Scavenger Hunt Adventure for Junior Rangers
1 p.m.,2 p.m., &3 p.m.- Special Screening: "Yosemite: A Gathering of Spirit" by Ken Burns
8:30 p.m.-9:30 p.m.- Under the Stars Trail Walk
