The National Park Service will celebrate National Junior Ranger Day at Charles Pinckney National Historic Site from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2014. A day of fun activities will be available for people of all ages and families with children. Activities include historic games, coloring "Charlie the Forgotten Founder," playing with historic toys, and children up to age twelve can complete the Junior Ranger Program to earn a badge and a special pin.
Charles Pinckney was an author and signer of the United States Constitution. The last 28 acres of his Mount Pleasant plantation, Snee Farm, is preserved today as Charles Pinckney National Historic Site. There the National Park Service interprets Charles Pinckney's role in developing the U.S. Constitution, the development of the young United States, and plantation life in the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Charles Pinckney National Historic Site is located at 1254 Long Point Road in Mount Pleasant. The park is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Days. Entrance is free. For more information, call (843) 881-5516.
