What Do the Great Lakes Mean to You

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on June 20, 2014. It is reproduced in full below.

The public is invited to a special presentation about the Great Lakes on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore’s Philip A. Hart Visitor Center in Empire, Michigan. Please join Cameron Davis in the epicenter of all Great Lakes legends and stories, Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (National Lakeshore), to hear about current efforts to save the Great Lakes and share some of your own stories…after all, our own personal stories are part of what strengthen our connection to our beloved Great Lakes. Davis, a 30-year veteran of Great Lakes policy and protection work, currently serving as Senior Advisor to the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator on Great Lakes issues, will kick off the discussion with a short lecture about the historic Great Lakes Restoration Initiative and Great Lakes Water Quality Agreement with Canada. This program is free, so come share your stories!
