BODY RECOVERED AT LAKE MOHAVE, AUG 24

BOULDER CITY, Nev. - A body has been recovered near Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave in an area where a man went missing Aug. 16.

Around 1 p.m. Aug. 24, the Lake Mead Interagency Communication Center received a call from a visitor reporting a body was seen floating near Cottonwood Cove on Lake Mohave. Rangers responded and recovered the body of an adult male.

A 31-year-old Southern California man was reported missing near this area after jumping off a boat without a life jacket Aug. 16. The National Park Service and Nevada Department of Wildlife have been searching for the victim since the incident occurred.

The Clark County Medical Examiner will confirm the victim’s identity and determine the cause of death. The incident is under investigation.
