Sedro Woolley, WA -The public is invited to attend any of several meetings next week to learn more about and provide comment on a proposed action to restore the fisher (Pekania pennanti) to the southwestern and northwestern Cascades of Washington State, including Mount Rainier and North Cascades National Parks.
Meetings will be hosted by the National Park Service (NPS) and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on the following dates:
* September 29--North Cascades National Park Headquarters in Sedro-Woolley
* September 30--Central Public Library in Seattle
* October 1--Packwood Fire Department in Packwood

The recently completed Fisher Restoration Plan/Environmental Assessment for Mount Rainier National Park and North Cascades National Park Service Complex (Fisher EA) is open for public review and comment through October 15 at www.parkplanning.nps.gov/RestoreFisher.
Limited physical copies are also available at several public libraries throughout the region including Bellingham, Burlington, Mount Vernon, Seattle, Tacoma, Puyallup, Enumclaw, Buckley, Eatonville, Chelan, East Wenatchee, and Yakima Valley and by request at e-mail us.
