After a long winter, it is a good time to get outside, breathe in the fresh air and see what is starting to green up. The Bandy Creek and Blue Heron Campgrounds will officially open on the National Recreation Reservation Service beginning on Wednesday, April 1. Campsites can be reserved online at www.recreation.gov or by phone at 1-877-444-6777.
If you would like to get an early start on your camping trip, Bandy Creek Campground Loop D is open year-round and provides a heated bath house with hot water showers. Alum Ford Campground is a primitive facility also open year-round and is located in the Kentucky section of the park.
