Evening Program: Sunset Yoga, Sept 4
Join a ranger at Rocky Point Overlook at 7 p.m. Sept. 4 and enjoy the view of the Boulder Basin while doing yoga poses and light stretching. Connect with the beauty of nature and the natural sounds. Evening Workshop: Night Sky Photography, Sept 12
Join instructor Aaron Leifheit from Outside Las Vegas Foundation and guest instructor, Chelsea Kennedy, from 5 to 10 p.m. Sept. 12 to gain a higher level of skill in night sky photography. They will share the tricks of night sky photography and students will leave with many night sky pictures. This program is $75 per person and is limited to 20 participants. WON Bass U.S. Open Fishing Tournament, Sept 14-16
Around 300 anglers from across the world will compete in the 33rd Annual WON BASS US Open Sept. 14-16 at Lake Mead. The tournament has been called the toughest west coast tournament ever. Recovery in the Park, Sept 19
Visit the National Park Service booth from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Bullhead City Community Park. Maps and information about Lake Mead National Recreation Area will be available.

Join the Western National Parks Association, at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Lake Mead Visitors Center for a Taza chocolate and beer pairing. Must be 21 to sign up and proof of I.D. is required at the event.Taza chocolate is Mexican chocolate;the tradition of stone ground cacao and sugar dates back to the Mayans. This treat was highly sought after, especially on the trade routes, like the Old Spanish Trail, which runs through Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Las Vegas Triathlon Sept 19
Around 500 triathletes will run, bike and swim through Lake Mead National Recreation Area Sept. 19 during the Las Vegas Triathlon. The swim portion of the race takes place at Boulder Beach. Then, athletes will bike along Lakeshore Road and Northshore Road. The race concludes with a run along River Mountains Loop Trail and Boulder Beach. Visitors to Lake Mead may experience delays along Lakeshore and Northshore roads. Drivers should use caution when passing cyclists. Cyclists are reminded that they must bike in single file on the roadways. Cycling abreast is not permitted within Lake Mead NRA. Entrance fees will be waived at Lake Mead National Recreation Area Sept. 26 for National Public Lands Day. Fees for camping, lake use or use of concessions still apply.
National Public Lands Day, Sept 26
Join rangers from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 26 for National Public Lands Day at Pyramid Canyon, Colorado River Heritage Greenway Park and Trails. There will be ranger-led hikes, arts and crafts, live animals, fishing and a treasure hunt. The Explore RV will be there and Jr. Ranger booklets will be available for distribution. At 10:30 a.m., join a ranger for an informative talk on the local history of the Colorado River and the construction of the Davis Dam. Ranger Program: Litter clean-up Sept 26
Join rangers for a litter clean-up Sept. 26, event registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the clean-up starts at 9 a.m. The first 100 volunteers will receive a National Public Land's Day coupon that will give them one-time free access to a public land on a different date. The clean-up will be focusing on an area of the park that was heavily used during the summer. Volunteers of all ages welcome, but anyone under the age of 18 will need a parental approval form signed by a parent or guardian. Saints and Sinners Half Marathon, Sept 26
Around 1,000 runners will race through Lake Mead National Recreation Area Sept. 26 during Saints and Sinners Half Marathon and Relay. C.A.S.T. for Kids, Oct 3
