The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Aug. 19, 2016. It is reproduced in full below.

Superintendent F. Gus Sanchez wishes to inform park visitors and local residents that the Memorial's Cultural Center, including the Visitor Center, Museum, Theater, and Western National Parks Association Park Store are scheduled to be closed for visitor and staff safety on Monday and Tuesday, August 22-23 in order to replace carpet.

On those days, visitor services and the park video will be available in the adjacent Headquarters and Administration Building from 10 am to 5 pm, and hte Franklin G. Smith Gallery will be open. Currently, the gallery is hosting artwork by local and world-renown artist Carlos Flores. Unfortunately, on those two days, Federal Recreation Lands Passes will not be available at the Memorial.

Thank you for your understanding as we complete this maintenance project. We look forward to seeing you!
