BOULDER CITY, Nevada -A 63-year-old female has died after snorkeling at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.
At 1:44 p.m., the Lake Mead National Recreation Area Interagency Communication Center received a call on marine band radio, reporting that a female was snorkeling in the Overton Arm of Lake Mead and came up unconscious.
She was transported by boat, with CPR in progress, to Callville Bay where she was met by first responders from the National Park Service, Nevada Department of Wildlife, Mercy Air and Callville Bay Resort and Marina. The victim could not be revived and was pronounced dead at 2:36 p.m.
The Clark County Medical Examiner will confirm the victim's identity and cause of death. The incident is under investigation. She was not wearing a life jacket.
