VIP Speaker Series: Eagles of Great Falls

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on March 3, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Potomac, MD - On March 4th, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. Bud Cline, longtime volunteer with the Chesapeake & Ohio Canal National Historical Park (C&O Canal), will share his knowledge of resident Bald eagles and other birds.

A short presentation about the eagle nest of Conn Island near the Great Falls Tavern will be followed by a chance to view the eagles’ nest, and hopefully the eagles, from the Washington Aqueduct Observation Deck near the Tavern. We will have spotting scopes set up for this viewing. Bring your binoculars and spotting scopes if you have them.

The program is free, but there is an entrance fee to the park of $10.00 per single vehicle. Space is limited to the first 25 guests. If you would like to attend this event, please RSVP with your name and how many will be in your party. For more information or to RSVP, please contact Dorothy McQuaid, Assistant Volunteer Coordinator, at e-mail us.

The park entrance to Great Falls Tavern is located at the intersection of Falls Road and MacArthur Boulevard in Potomac, Maryland.
