INDIANA DUNES NATIONAL LAKESHORE: Join a ranger at Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on Sunday, June 11, 18, and 25, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am for a hike to the top of famous Mount Baldy. Even though the area is closed for general public access, this ranger-led tour allows visitors to experience the beauty and spectacular views from the tallest dune in the national lakeshore.
The hikes start at the Indiana Dunes Visitor Center, which is located at 1215 North State Road 49 in Porter, about one mile north of Interstate 94. After a brief introduction, participants will drive their own cars to Mount Baldy for a ranger-led hike to top of the dune.
The tours are free, but reservations are required and spaces are limited.
