Tonto National Monument asks for public input regarding proposed Park entrance fee increase

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Sept. 6, 2017. It is reproduced in full below.

Roosevelt, AZ- Tonto National Monument will ask for public input on Sept. 15, 2017 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm to discuss a proposed increase of the daily entrance fee. The meeting will be held at the Tonto National Monument Visitor Center located at 26260 N. AZ Hwy 188 in Roosevelt, Arizona. The current park entrance fee has been in place since 2015, but it is below the suggested agency fee standards. The proposed fee increase would make the entrance fee $7.00 instead of the current price of $5.00. Children 15 years old and younger are admitted for free. Tonto National Monument has used fee revenue for improving visitor center museum exhibitis, facility maintenance, outdoor programs, staffwages, park publications, and youth engagement.

Public feedback will be taken into consideration when determining if the fee increase will be implemented.
