Navy Circle Closed to Facilitate Erosion Repairs

Vicksburg, MS: Navy Circle, off of Washington Street will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic until further notice to facilitate soil erosion repairs next to the circle. The work is being completed by the Mississippi River Bridge Commission to stabilize soil erosion in the vicinity of the old Highway 80 Bridge.

The work is anticipated to take up to 8 weeks. The road will remain closed during the stabilization effort to ensure visitor and contractor safety. Questions regarding the road closure may be directed to the National Park Service at 601-619-2905. Questions related to the erosion stabilization may be directed to the Vicksburg Bridge Commission at 601-636-0881.

Notification will be issued then the road reopens.
