OCHOPEE - Big Cypress National Preserve is pleased to reopen the scenic Loop Road on Friday, January 5 to visitors. Visitors can pick up a guide to Loop Road by stopping at the Oasis Visitor Center or Big Cypress Swamp Welcome Center. A digital copy is also available online:.
Current road conditions on Loop Road are good. Visitors are encouraged to drive slowly and watch for wildlife on the roadway.
Mitchell’s Landing and Pinecrest Campgrounds will remain closed. Persistent high ground water levels may have inundated some facility infrastructure. Additional updates and changes in closures will be provided by press release.
