Homefront: Chickamauga

Fort Oglethorpe, GA: On March 17, at 2 pm, Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park will provide a special 1-hour talk at Chickamauga Battlefield exploring the battle’s impact on several communities in the battle’s aftermath. This talk will take place at the Chickamauga Battlefield Visitor Center.

Like a stone thrown into a puddle, the aftermath of the Battle of Chickamauga sent ripples throughout the country. As the staggering battlefield losses were reported, many families and communities were shaken to the core. This talk will look at some of those who were affected by the battle and relate their stories of loss, recovery, and hope.
