Pecos NHP Presents Pecos National Historical Park: A Photographer’s Perspective

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on July 24, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Pecos, NM: Former Artist-in-Residence Stan Ford will present a photographer’s perspective of Pecos National Historical Park on Saturday, August 18th at 1:00 p.m. at the Vista Grande Public Library in Eldorado. Mr. Ford, whose work has been featured in Nature Photographer, was selected as one of the park’s 2016 Artists-in-Residence. During this free lecture, he will recount his experience photographing the park while sharing his favorite images from his residency.

Mr. Ford explains that photographing nature and documenting his lived experience has become “his raison d’être." Because of his interest in presenting the natural world as he experienced it, he does not manipulate his images. Since his residency, Stan has continued photographing the park as well as leading night photography workshops-the next one taking place at the Forked Lightning Ranch this September.

Please note, this program will take place at the Vista Grande Public Library, which is located at 14 Avenida Torreon, Santa Fe, NM 87508. Space is limited, so please arrive early.
