Join us for a Lesson on Precision Agriculture

at Homestead National Monument of America

The final 2018 Campfire program at Homestead National Monument of America will be on Aug. 11, 2018, at 7 p.m at the Homestead Education Center. Wesley Hedges will present his program, titled “All Original, All Nebraska," which is about Precision Agriculture. Wesley is the Precision Ag Manager for Farmers Cooperative. He utilizes his expertise in digital ag technology and agronomy to help growers make economic, yield increasing decisions. At the same time, he focuses on being a good steward of the land for the benefit of future generations by making agronomic recommendations that optimize the placement and rate of the products applied.

Wesley’s talk will be followed by a performance by folk musician Nina Rohlfs. Nina will play historical folk tunes and some of her own music where she sings of country schools and farming.

.

“Homestead National Monument of America is excited to announce the last of our summer campfire programs. The agricultural evolution that started with the homesteaders and continues today is a big part of the story of homesteading, and will be explained in full by our guest Wesley Hedges and Nina Rohlfs," stated Superintendent Mark Engler.

Come early and enjoy the Heritage Center exhibits. Bring a picnic for one of the picnic areas. Chairs are provided but feel free to bring your own lawn chairs. Visit https://www.nps.gov/home to learn more on the programs.
