Special Event with Local Photographer Ross Hamilton

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Sept. 21, 2018. It is reproduced in full below.

Olympic National Park and its non-profit partner Discover Your Northwest will host a special meet, greet, and signature event featuring local, renowned large-format photographer Ross Hamilton. The event will take place on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Olympic National Park Visitor Center located at 3002 Mount Angeles Road in Port Angeles.

Hamilton has long championed the beauty of Olympic National Park and the Olympic Peninsula. His coffee-table book, The Wilderness Trilogy, with text authored by Janet Scharf, as well as his scenic wall calendars, posters, bookmarks, note and postcards depict the wonders of the peninsula and the park. These items will be available for purchase in the Olympic National Park Visitor Center bookstore. The bookstore is operated by Discover Your Northwest, a nonprofit partner of the National Park Service that supports park programs through sales proceeds.

Discover Your Northwest promotes the discovery of northwest public lands, enriches the experience of visitors, and encourages stewardship of these special places today and for generations to come. At Olympic, Discover Your Northwest funds publication of the park’s winter and summer newspapers as well as educational trail guides. Discover Your Northwest has also made important contributions to support the park’s volunteer program, exhibits at visitor centers and the Perspectives Speakers’ Series.
