WASHINGTON- Starting Friday, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT), in collaboration with the National Park Service, will resurface Waterside Drive between Rock Creek and Potomac Parkway and Massachusetts Avenue NW.
Waterside Drive will close from about 10 a.m. on Friday, November 9, until about 9 p.m. on Saturday, November 10. During that time, work crews will resurface the road. This work will provide temporary relief to drivers in anticipation of a full-depth reconstruction, which is part of the National Park Service’s five-year plan. The full-depth reconstruction would not begin before 2021.
We hope to complete all of the work on November 9 and 10. If there is bad weather or if workers encounter unexpected complications, we may need to close the road another weekend. Please check the “alerts" at www.nps.gov/rocr for updates on the project.
Emergency access and access for local traffic with proof of address, will be provided during the work. Additional information about how to access local properties will be shared with the neighbors adjacent to this section of Waterside Drive.
