Timpanogos Cave Seeking Input For Proposal on Food Trucks

The following press release was published by the U.S. Department of the Interior, National Park Service on Feb. 8, 2019. It is reproduced in full below.

Timpanogos Cave looking for input on a proposal for food trucks, with a Request for Expressions of Interest

Timpanogos Cave is seeking public interest and input on its proposed mobile food and beverage service at Timpanogos Cave National Monument. The new visitor center, currently under construction, will have parking space available for a food truck, and with the Request for Expressions of Interest it welcomes responses from the public and businesses.

When the new visitor center opens for the 2019 summer season, the park would like to provide visitors with an opportunity to obtain food and beverages on-site before or after their cave tour, hike, or other activity, especially during the peak periods mid-morning to mid-afternoon.

There will not be a dedicated concession facility in the redesigned building. The park believes that this service could be provided by food truck operators or similar vendors interested in this seasonal small business opportunity.

The park anticipates managing this program with one or more Commercial Use Authorizations. It will work collaboratively with permitees to develop reasonable expectations and plans for scheduling, food/beverage offerings, allocation of space, etc., guided in part by input received at this.

Those interested in providing input should make recommendations on or before March 8, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. For submission guidelines, see the official RFEI at https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=52b82d0c8f45a6e2fd9923049702ea8a&tab=core&_cview=0
