Interagency Cliff Rescue at Battery Crosby

On the morning of Tuesday, March 19, United States Park Police and Golden Gate National Recreation Area Park Rangers responded to a report of a stranded hiker on a cliffside near Battery Crosby. Battery Crosby is located between Marshall Beach and Baker Beach, managed by Golden Gate National Recreation Area.

More than 20 staff members from San Francisco Fire Department (SFFD) responded with technical rope rescue and firefighter staff. California Highway Patrol provided helicopter support. SFFD prepared a high-angle rescue and brought the hiker to a safe area for medical evaluations.

The hiker suffered no injuries.
