The Sharpshooters Woodwind Quartet, a part of the Nebraska National Guard 43rd Army Band, will perform at Homestead National Monument of America on Saturday, June 22 at 4 p.m. Their performance will be a part of the monument’s annual Homestead Days events.
The Sharpshooters repertoire includes both classical pieces and popular music. The mission of the 43rd Army Band is to provide musical entertainment for the morale of soldiers and to support local communities. As musical ambassadors of the Nebraska National Guard, the 43rd Army Band represents the National Guard at a variety of civilian and official military functions throughout Nebraska.
This will be the 40th anniversary of Homestead Days at Homestead National Monument of America. The annual event features the demonstration of homesteader crafts including: coopering, spinning, woodworking, dutch oven cooking, and quilting. There will also be music and dance performances on stage throughout the day, with different performers on each of the three days.
