At 8 p.m., visitors should meet in the Education Classroom, located on the lower level of the Arch Visitor Center, where Schonwald will discuss the past, present and future of human space exploration. Weather permitting, telescope viewing led by volunteers from the St. Louis Astronomical Society will take place following the presentation at the Arch’s west entrance plaza until 10 p.m. The almost-full moon and Jupiter will be highlighted.
The sky will need to be at least partly clear for telescope viewing to take place. Attendees should call 314-655-1708 the afternoon of the event for an update on the weather. The indoor presentation will take place rain or shine.
