The grounds, trails, and parking lots at Homestead National Monument of America are open every day, including on holidays, from dawn until dusk. Visitors are welcome to park at the Heritage Center or Education Center and enjoy a walk through the oldest restored tallgrass prairie in the National Park System. Visitors are also encouraged to visit the park during business hours to experience the Winter Festival of Prairie Cultures on display now through January 5, 2020. Exhibits highlight the holiday and winter traditions of the ethnic and cultural groups that homesteaded the Great Plains. “The holiday season is a great opportunity for families to spend time together and make memories while exploring one of their national parks," said Superintendent Mark Engler.
