Biscayne National Park Closure for Hurricane Isaias

HOMESTEAD, Fla. --- Biscayne National Park is closing the Dante Fascell Visitor Center, island visitor facilities, and administrative facilities at 5:00 pm today in preparation for potential severe weather associated with Hurricane Isaias.

Boating in park waters remains open, including the Intracoastal Waterway and other channels. Visitors planning to boat in the park should monitor VHF radio for weather conditions and follow marine advisories.

Once a closure is in effect, it will remain in place until the National Park Service assesses storm damage, or the threat of Hurricane Isaias has passed. Updates will be posted on the park’s website or at NPS Hurricane and Severe Weather Response.
