Kenai Fjords National Park is pleased to announce that the gate to the Exit Glacier area will be open for the summer season on Friday, May 21, 2021.

There are significant amounts of snow still present at Exit Glacier and the associated trail systems. The park is currently assessing conditions and park operations for this area and visitors are advised to check the park website for current conditions and to be appropriately prepared if visiting the area.

There is evidence of significant bear activity in the vicinity and visitors are reminded to practice bear safety, including carrying bear spray and knowing how to use it, and making noise while traveling and hiking in groups.

Consistent with CDC recommendations, people who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces. Additional details are available at www.nps.gov/coronavirus. Please recreate responsibly.
