Flagstaff Area National Monuments Announce Holiday Hours

FLAGSTAFF, ARIZONA- The Flagstaff Area National Monuments (Walnut Canyon, Sunset Crater Volcano, and Wupatki) will have the following operating hours for the remainder of 2021 through New Year’s Day 2022.

Current daily operating hours (other than holidays listed below)

Walnut Canyon: 9am-4:30pm, access to the Island Trail ends at 3:30pm

*

Sunset Crater Volcano: Visitor Center open 9am-4:30pm, park road (Road 545) and trails open 24 hours a day

*

Wupatki: Visitor Center open 9am-4:30pm, park road (Road 545) open 24 hours a day, trails open dawn to dusk

Thanksgiving Day (Thursday November 25)

Walnut Canyon: 9am-1pm (access to the Island Trail ends at 12pm)

*

Sunset Crater Volcano: Visitor Center closed, park road (Road 545) and trails open 24 hours a day

*

Wupatki: Visitor Center closed, park road (Road 545) open 24 hours a day, trails open dawn to dusk

Christmas Day (Saturday December 25) and New Year's Day (Saturday January 1)

Walnut Canyon: closed

*

Sunset Crater Volcano: Visitor Center closed, park road (Road 545) and trails open 24 hours a day

*

Wupatki: Visitor Center closed, park road (Road 545) open 24 hours a day, trails open dawn to dusk
